Welcome to the Anglican Parish of St. Andrew and St. Mark
We are a welcoming and inclusive community centred in Christ. We aim to be thoughtful stewards of God’s creation through beautiful worship and the sharing of God’s love and compassion in our neighbourhood and beyond.
Bible Study: Wednesdays at 10am in the sanctuary. Led by Chris Haslam, author of Comments (http://www.montreal.anglican.org/comments/) Chris studied theology at Concordia for a number of years and has extensive experience leading Bible Studies at the former St James the Apostle (the "new Community") and at St John's Lutheran on Jeanne Mance. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and share in a friendly environment! All welcome! Come and check us out!
Sun Oct 22 We welcome The Ven Robert Camara, Vicar General and Executive Archdeacon of the diocese of Montreal, as our guest preacher and celebrant to both 8am and 10am services.
Sat Oct 21, 6pm Lasagna dinner. Only a few tickets left!: $10.00 per person. Call the office to reserve a spot. Tel: 514-631-3601. Proceeds will go to the general fund.
Sun Oct 29th or White Socks Sunday at Church of the Resurrection in Valois, Pointe-Claire. Services begin at 8:30am and 10am. There will be no services at St Mark’s Church, Dorval. Everyone is invited to worship at COTR. George Greene from St Michael’s Mission will be the guest preacher. Both congregations are being asked to support the mission this Sunday by bringing in new white socks. This idea was inspired by a recent article in the Montreal Gazette about the organization Toe2Toe. More information about Toe2Toe can be found on the notice board. The socks need to be white so that health problems can be more easily detected; white socks show blood or other indications of injury or infection. Thank you for your ongoing support!
JOB OPPORTUNITY: Incumbent, St Andrew & St Mark, Dorval
The Bishop of Montreal invites applications for the position of Incumbent of the parish of St. Andrew & St. Mark, Dorval. This is a full time position.
The Church of St. Andrew & St. Mark is a vibrant parish in the city of Dorval, about a twenty-five minute drive West of Downtown Montreal. A congregation that was formed with the merger of St. Mark’s (1898) and St. Andrew (1959) in 1969, it is a welcoming and inclusive community centred in Christ and strives to share God’s love and compassion in their neighbourhood and beyond. The parish is searching for a priest who contributes their own spiritual gifts, passions and imagination while bringing out the gifts of the parish, recognizing abilities in the congregation and providing solid leadership.
The bishop is looking to appoint a priest to serve the parish as it continues to grow in their sense of mission and purpose, a priest who will be an enabler to assist and encourage all members in their ministry, a priest who will share God’s welcome and be inclusive to all, a priest who is prayerful and Spirit led.
